Test ID CARU Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate (cAMP), Urinary Excretion, Serum and Urine


Specimen Required


Both serum and urine are required. Serum must be collected at the time of the urine collection.

Supplies: Sarstedt Aliquot Tube, 5 mL (T914)

Container/Tube:

Preferred: Serum gel

Acceptable: Red top

Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Within 2 hours of collection serum gel tubes should be centrifuged.

2. Within 2 hours of collection red-top tubes should be centrifuged, and the serum aliquoted into a plastic vial.

3. Label specimen as serum.

1. Collect a random urine specimen.
